My grandkids wanted to paint rocks, and I chose these “markers” vs the messiness of paint. You do have to push in the tips to get the paint flowing. I find them to be better than the few DecoColor markers. They don't bleed, run, or ooze out of the marker. The colors are good and they dry fast. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!These acrylic markers are ok for the price but don't expect the quality of a more expensive marker such as DecoColor. They apply very wet so they take a while to dry. Also, maybe it's me but I expected the "reversible tip' to be a double ended marker. These come with tips that you have to remove and turn over and insert the other way around. So my suggestion is if you want the broad tip instead of the bullet tip, reverse the tip BEFORE you use them for the first time to avoid getting the paint on your hands or other materials. I used a paper towel and it was fine, but I can see how it could be messy. Maybe if you use a tweezer or pliers it would be helpful. Overall for approx. $1/marker they are ok.Good markers, great for simple projects. However, do follow instructions. Shake the marker with the cap ON before each usage/day, and open them carefully over some extra paper, not over your project or yourself. I'd try it out on an extra sheet of paper to make sure the paint does not run. If it does run, such as after too vigorous shaking, it will stop leaking after short usage. Wipe it off if needed. They clean up easily with water (warm water with dish washing liquid works great). I store my markers with the tip up just in case. I find the paint dries much quicker than when using these markers than when I use actual acrylic paint with a brush. Also, with markers, paint thickness is consistent, and they handle easily like any other pen. I did not get good results when trying to blend colors with these markers; actual paint is better for blending. I typically use a gloss/varnish on my projects, and I found the marker's colors retain well.I purchased these paint markers to decorate rocks and to leave around my neighborhood. I was able to decorate around 150 rocks and not one marker has run out of paint on me yet. I'm super impressed with the amount of paint inside of these markers. The color is vibrant and long-lasting. The rocks that were decorated were left out in the rain for a couple days and none of the paint faded or washed away. The color stayed looking vibrant and fresh. There is very little to no smell from these markers. The paint flows out smoothly and never did I have difficulty with clogs or skipping. I also shook the marker a few times prior to each use. I must note, be sure to shake with the cap ON. If you shake with it off, paint does tend to drip out if you shake too hard. I would certainly recommend these to anyone looking to work on an art project such as rock painting. You won't be disappointed.I have used the black and the "red". The black is exactly what I expected. The "red" is not at all red. It is most closely described as salmon pink. There is a hot pink also in the set, so this is not a case of mistaken identity.the colors are bright and vibrant. I really liked how they write really smooth as well. I had fun using them on different types of surfaces like photos for my scrapebook. I would recommend this product and the price is right as well.
