There was some ugly, camouflage countertops in the guest bath. I used the liquid wood kit and I am pleasantly surprised! I finished this with a floor sealant for added protection.This is my second order and I am elated that I received a good one this time. I think I got a bad batch the first time because it had a horrible smell and the product had separated.Anyway, I ordered the second one to finish my project. The first one performed the way it was supposed to but the smell was so bad, I thought I just want to finish this project and was not planning on using again. Glad I ordered again because it did not have that fowl stench. I just placed another order because I want to Retique everything. This stuff is amazing! So easy to use and really is wood!I seriously can’t stop painting things with this. And mixing stains for a worn look is my new obsession. I like Retique It’s stain, but I’ve used a few different gel stains and they all work well. Highly recommend. I’ve used it in laminate and plastic. Use a good primer (Sherwin Williams has the best I’ve found)I loved everything about this product. It was easy to use, easy to clean up and came out beautiful. I bought the barnwood stain to makeover my old painted diningroom table that has been around for ever. It came out so beautiful that I stained my old painted garage sale coffee table, stained my dark floating shelves lighter, used it on my bedroom fireplace mantel and made a frame for my tv and stained it to match. I plan to buy a different color and do the exterior of my front door.I highly recommend this product and encourage you to watch the videos before you start your project. This really was so easy to use.So happy with this product. It sounded too good to be true, but it’s not. I’m so mad at myself for forgetting to take a before picture, because it was just a worn out black printer table. If I had followed the directions and used sandpaper instead of a foot pumice, I bet it would look even more fabulous! After using the liquid wood and gel stain on the top, I painted the rest with retique all in one chalk paint.This product was everything I was hoping. Easy to use, fast drying time and great durability.WOur island was painted gray and I wanted a wood loom without ha I got to replace the entire island. the stain was a little darker then I expected but I was able to try different things and get it to a color I likedPictures show a few steps in process. I will do one more coast of stain then poly gloss to seal it. I am amazed at how easy it is and how well it worked. It’s really wood you paint on! If you’re unsure just go for it! You will love it. I love this stuff!!!Super amazed by this product.Bought it to revive an old table that was Vanier that chipped. Was able to paint on retique it and stain it rather than just paint it.Some reviews worried me because they made it seem like a complicated process. I found it very easy. Paint on liquid wood, 2 coats with dry time in between. Light sanding. Apply stain, 2 coats again. Then pick your top coat of choice to seal it all in.
