The Olympic pool paint (white, gloss) is very good quality paint. However, it is also very expensive and the fumes are not healthy to inhale. Plan to apply at least 3 coats to bare concrete or beaten-up prior paint jobs on your pool, and 4 would be even better if you want to extend the life of the paint job and get a really great finish. The paint is fairly thick, and the manufacturer says you can dilute the first coat up to 20% with Xylene solvent, as the 'primer' coat. Subsequent coats should be applied full-strength. As reference, my pool is 34,000 gallon, and I used 17 gallons of paint, which gave me 3 coats on most of the pool, but I only got 2 coats on the shallow end before running out of paint. Another 3 gallons would have gotten me the full 3 coats, but I had enough and decided to leave it at that. So plan 20 gallons for a 34k pool. Lots of cash and a ton of work but worth it in the end. PS: Only use this chlorinated rubber paint over surfaces that are bare concrete or have been painted with chlorinated rubber paint previously.DO NOT apply over water-based or epoxy paints or synthetic rubber paints. If you do, the paint will likely fail.
